Lockout
Measure #20 - Company Release
Strike Update 05 - #73
Distributed to TELUS team members
September 23, 2005
TELUS implements lockout measure #20 for various functional
areas in Alberta
As of Thursday, September 22, 56 per cent of bargaining unit
team members in Alberta were reporting to work, and many areas
of TELUS in Alberta are now working at near or full capacity,
such as Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, where 100 per
cent of bargaining unit team members have returned to work.
Other areas have stabilized operations and are effectively managing
the workload with the existing complement of team members. As
a result, bargaining unit team members in the following functional
areas in Alberta who have not yet returned to work as of today
will no longer be permitted to report to work during the labour
disruption:
• Technology
and Operations (T&O)
- Logistics
• Supply Operations (Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Warehousing
and Distribution, Repair Services, and Reverse Logistics)
• Real Estate Services
• Partner Solutions - Customer Care
We may be implementing similar measures in other areas of the
company in the future as we continue to stabilize our operations.
